Turkmen Silver Two Finger Ring (65 grams) US 7.5/8.5

$650.00
Stop everything because this is the tribal ring of rings. This ring does need two fingers to be worn properly because it's so massive. It features a milled band around the sides and then impossibly detailed beaded overlay work in successive levels on the face. Within the center medallion, there is a glass window that holds within it a piece of red sun-faded fabric. One wonders where the fabric is from. Was it from a loved one's shirt perhaps captured in their memory? This is surprisingly comfortable. Could you wear this to Coachella? Yes. Would this be perfect at Burning Man? For sure it would. Could you wear it for an Oscar acceptance speech? Pretty much. Gallery opening. You get the point. This design is such a showstopper, it makes a bold statement from across the room without being overly gaudy. The design is low key with a muted finish, yet its impressive size makes it a complete eye magnet. Ok, logistics. The two rings have sizes of: 7.5 and 8.5 Condition is excellent. Dimensions: 54mm x 67mm (2.1" x 2.6") Weight: Light for its size at 65 grams I'm not going to make a concession on the price but I do take layaway. The Turkmen are nomadic people in the deserts of Turkmenistan and surrounding areas of central Asia where they have lived for thousands of years. They are well-known for their jewelry made of silver gilt accented with carnelian or red glass jewels and sometimes turquoise beads. There are five major tribes of turkmen, the Tekke, Ersari, Yomut, Choudur and Saryks represented by the five stars of the turkmen national flag.
