Sleek Antonio Pineda Sterling Silver 970 Cufflinks Modernist Taxco (Eagle 17)

$310.00
Fine pair of modernist sterling silver parallelogram cufflinks by Antonio Pineda, Taxco, Mexico ca. 1955-1965. These cufflinks feature clean modernist lines but somehow manage to achieve stark contrast with the rainbow obsidian cabochons inset into the centers. Truly simple yet improbable angles. Made by hand in heavy 970/1000 silver. One cufflink is stamped "Hecho en Mexico" and "SILVER". The other is stamped with the Eagle 17 and the ANTONIO TAXCO crown and 970. These are heavy (29 grams) and elegant toggle back cufflinks suitable for a graduation, anniversary, wedding or other important gift. Condition is quite good with the most minor surface scratching (appears less than in the photos) and a few fleabites as shown. Seems to be a rare design. At the time of this writing, there are few if any pairs of these available in this great condition. Dimensions: 0.5" x 0.9" Questions welcomed and answered.
