Scarce C. 18th Century Parcel Gilt Silver Tibetan Buddhist Box
$1,600.00
This stunning box was produced in Tibet in the 18th century. It is parcel gilt with elaborate repousse, importantly with Tibetan Buddhist iconography that helps to attribute it to Tibet including the two golden fish atop the lotus blossom which is one of the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism (bkra-shis rtags-brgyad) in Tibet.
