Rare 1780-90 by Maker 'IB' Charleston Coin Silver Heavy Bright Cut Tablespoon Pair 'ABC'

Offered here is a scarce early feather edge tablespoon by a known but uncharacterized silversmith, 'IB' of Charleston, SC (active c. 1790). 'ABC' monogram. This spoon is unique in that it is very heavily made with a very stout stem. Condition is good with a couple of marks in the bowl. Nice strong maker mark stamped twice on each example. Weight: 136 grams on the pair. Length: 9 1/8".
