A lovely pair of Francis Higgins II scissor form sugar tongs in the popular ornate style that peaked in the 1760-70 decade in England. Higgins was a prolific and well loved flatware maker, his mark was entered as a London maker in 1817. A beautiful pair in outstanding condition! With an owner's mark of IRE. Marked at the insides of the handles with the FH mark and the lion passant. Scallop form. 34 grams, 4.5". A joy to hold with a tight hinge.
