1888-1925 baptismal or christening spoon by David Andersen of Oslo, Norway in 830 silver. Bright cut patterns. Fully hallmarked as shown. Very light surface scratching. A nice piece of Scandinavian silver in the traditional style. This piece is decorated with the Madonna and King Canute IV on the front and the phrases "Mary help me in all my need and save me from eternal jugment." and "All is as God Wills it". The obverse is engraved with the image of King Olaf II Haraldsson 995-29. King Olaf is depicted holding a battle ax, a symbol of his martyrdom.
