Carved Jadeite Bear Chinese Hand Carved (Jade)

An interesting and highly figured carved jadeite bear. The bear is executed in a white to slightly grey / purple jadeite with some areas of russet and some areas of green. The bear and its pedestal have been carved from a single block of jadeite. The surface of the stone, in the flat areas, has been polished to a fine sheen and has a lot of water. The bear stands on its four feet, looking slightly upward and with a turned head. Its face is serene as it looks up towards the distant stars with its almond shaped eyes. The bear has a thick coat of winter fur that is shown in great detail.
Signs of tool marks in the stone, especially on the bottom. Condition is excellent. There may be a minute fleabite on one ear that I can feel, but cannot see (exceedingly minor).
Dimensions: 1.75" x 2.25" x4.5"
