Offered for sale here is an antique silver Chinese brooch with three impressive nephrite cabochons (the central one is approximately 18mm x 21mm). The stones have a nice overall depth of green with some shades of white and russet. These are set in silver with cast motifs that may be butterfly and prunus blossoms. Perhaps these two combined could convey a sense of fleeting beauty and the idea that life is a transient journey. It was originally fashioned into a buckle. Some time later, it was converted into a brooch. A hook closure seems to be working well. 26 grams.
