Ca 1760-80 Denmark Silver Dognose Tablespoon Pair
$800.00
This is a pair of large provincial dognose silver tablespoons made in Denmark by maker 'NW' (mark is a conjoined N-W). Made in an old-fashioned pattern with resplendent hand etched chasing of flames or flora on the obverse of bowl. Monogrammed 'APS and MGD' in a period cursive script on the reverse of the handle terminal. Really a very special, rare and unique pair. Wear is commensurate with age and use as shown but the condition is extraordinary and they does not appear overpolished as some examples are. Overall, the spoons have a stout and impressive profile and classic proportions. Gauge is light to medium.
Length: About 8.5" in length
79 grams.
