Ca 1760-80 Denmark Silver Dognose Tablespoon
$280.00
A c. 1790-1800 likely Danish dognose silver tablespoon by an unidentified maker (if you know, please send a messsage!). Made in an old-fashioned pattern with resplendent hand etched chasing of a tulip.
Personalized ’Mettha Christians FC 1804' in a period cursive script (pinprick engraving) on the reverse of the handle. Really a very special, rare and unique piece. Wear is commensurate with age and use as shown but the condition is excellent and does not appear overpolished as some examples are. Overall, the spoon has a stout and impressive profile and classic proportions.
Length: About 8.75" in length
