Spectacular early ca. 1755 William Turner sterling silver serving spoon. Hand forged from a heavy gauge of silver with an opulent simple profile and downturned terminal. Bottom-struck hallmarks for William Turner, and correct pre-1822 crowned leopard, lion passant, and a fully rubbed date mark. This spoon is 8" in length. Overall, this Georgian spoon is in very good condition with a strong, thick bowl tip, and strong heel to the reverse of the bowl and an excellent patina. No dings. Condition includes typical fine surface scratches commensurate with age and use. No breaks, significant dints, or repairs.
