c. 1920-30 Carved Jadeite Cat Hand Carved

A playful carved jadeite cat executed in a white to slightly grey jadeite with some very small areas of russet and some areas of faint green. The cat has been carved from a single block of jadeite. The surface of the stone, in the flat areas, has been polished to a fine sheen and has good water. The cat stands on its four feet, looking downward at something near its front feet. Its face is curious with taught whiskers and almond shaped eyes. Toes are carved, but the shape of the cat is what conveys its meaning Condition is excellent. There may be a minute fleabite on one ear that I can feel, but cannot see (exceedingly minor).
