C. 1880 Bronze Gilt Ormolu Pair of Putti Cherubs

Offered is a pair of large antique bronze gilt / ormolu bronze (gilded) putti or cherubim. Great ornaments for desk or home. Each appears to have been fire gilded. There are several options of how they may be mounted or hung, but they certainly look lovely laying flat on their backs. Condition is excellent with slight loss of gilding and patina. Unsigned. Beautifully sculpted with a great deal of detail. Based on the narrative of the owner, these were once mounted on an elaborate clock that sported a third figure of Poseidon that was mounted between these angels. Price is firm.
