C. 1740 Danish Silver Spoon with Hand Chased Tulip
$240.00
Offered here is an 18th century provincial Danish spoon-- unmarked. Made in a traditional pattern with resplendent hand etched chasing of an elegant tulip. Monogrammed 'BM DG' in a period cursive script on the reverse of the terminal. Really a very special, rare and unique piece. Wear is commensurate with age and use as shown but the condition is very good and it does not appear overpolished as some examples are. Overall, this spoon has a stout and impressive profile and classic proportions, but is of a lighter gauge than other examples of this type.
Length: About 6 3/8" in length
23 grams.
