This is a scarce old female Baule divinatory figure (dwellings of asye usu spirit) from Côte d'Ivoire. Figure is in dichromatic in a deep reddish brown and also is accented with black at the hair, nipples, and garments. Eyes are also painted black with some white highlighting them. Scarification present at the cheeks and wearing numerous necklaces. Distressed areas from use and age: long vertical cracking with the grain of the wood as shown, some wear to the paint.
