Antique Turkmen Silver Geometric Pendant or Amulet Clasp
$360.00
Offered is a very unique and beautiful antique Turkmenistan diamond shaped two-piece silver pendant or amulet. It features twenty-five raised stellate beads on the first half and sixteen holes set on a bias and two surrounding rows of filigree loops on the second. This pendant looks heavily worn and has chips to the old carnelian and slight losses of the filigree and wear in the reverse where it would have attached. This amulet also features gorgeous patterns. This is presumed to have been an older tribal piece. Although the two pieces are stylistically a little different, I have no doubt that they have been worn together for a long time using the hook and eye attachment. I believe each of these pieces probably was upcycled from its own cloak closure. They could still be worn that way with one each fixed to the respective sides of a garment. Alternatively, they can be worn as a drop pendant with one or two fixtures.
Condition is good antique.
