Antique Chinese Baifurong Carved Boy with Double Gourd and Sack - "Hehe Erxian" (和合二仙)

$650.00
An antique Chinese Shoushan soapstone 'baifurong' carving of a boy with double gourd at his feet and a sack of treasures held to his cheek, possibly one of the "Hehe Erxian" (和合二仙). This piece has been finely carved and executed in a slightly gold tone mutton fat colored material that has one small bit of orange to red in the treasure sack. The stone has a fine finish and a waxy feel. This piece has been evaluated by a third party expert and they determined it was older. Condition is excellent. Some slight internal fracturing is noted in the material, but all appears stable. Tests as jadeite on the Presidium gem tester, but SG is a little low and scratch test fails, so is likely to be soapstone. Dimensions: 23mm x 43mm x 50mm 69.8 grams Specific gravity: ~2.75 Check out some of my other antiques: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP?ref=search_shop_redirect§ion_id=6783279 Or just browse around the shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP
