73 PC 1940 Gorham Strasbourg Sterling Silver Flatware Set for 12 Settings (2,150+ Grams)

For sale here is a stunning set for about 12 place settings (73 pieces) of Gorham sterling silver flatware in the popular Strasbourg pattern originally designed by William C. Codman (and still produced). The set includes the original Gorham branded box. Each piece is matching and is not monogrammed. The weight of this set is: 2,157 grams of sterling silver excluding the knives and other weighted pieces. Condition is excellent with no major issues (letter opener does show some wear). The original Gorham box shows extensive wear and has holes in the outer material, but is perfectly functional and lined with Pacific Silvercloth. All pieces clearly stamped for Gorham and Sterling (a few pieces haver variation in marks perhaps as the set was expanded or pieces were replaced, but all Gorham and Sterling).
