Offered here is a gorgeous 29 May 1815 - 13 Jun 1815 (marks for London 1815 are highly specific) Josiah & George Piercy sterling silver serving spoon. Hand forged from a heavy gauge of silver with an opulent simple profile and downturned terminal. Bottom-struck hallmarks for William Turner, and correct pre-1822 crowned leopard, lion passant and date mark. Monogrammed 'MLM'
This spoon is 8.75" in length. Overall, this Georgian spoon is in very good condition with a strong, thick bowl tip, and strong heel to the reverse of the bowl and an excellent patina. No dings. Condition includes typical fine surface scratches commensurate with age and use. No breaks, significant dints, or repairs. Weight is 60 grams.
