19th Century European Chinoiserie Lacquer Tea Caddy
Offered here is a chippy enamel tea caddy. Likely made in Europe in the 19th century in the Chinese style. Box which would have locked at one time, contains two large pewter canisters, each having a cover, and then a lid that fits snugly and has a turned wooden knob. Canisters are removable and still contain a few leaves of tea! box is structurally sound, but has lots of honest wear to the enamel. The lid is decorated with Qing style wedding(?) imagery. Pewter canisters are dinged up but still seem quite functional. These are intricately engraved with Eastern imagery.
Dimensions: 5.25” x 8.5” x 11.5
