A scarce 1960 Olaf Skoogfors Sterling Silver mid century modern abstract shallow hand wrought bowl. A beautiful hammered texture on the bottom and a planished visible surface, the bowl sits on a visionary three-sided base. The bowl was commissioned in Philadelphia and includes the original receipt and other ephemera (a level of provenance almost unheard of in silver collecting). Overall, a highly original piece painstakingly handmade by a master silversmith in a classic example of the midcentury modern style with Scandinavian influences. No other pieces of Skoogfor's rare hollowware are currently for sale elsewhere, and most known examples are in museums.
