1957 Marc Chagall Print "Paysage aux Isbas"

An original 1957 lithograph by renowned French painter and printmaker, Marc Chagall (1887-1985). This print is entitled “Paysage aux Isbas” and Chagall contributed this composition for the back cover of a volume by Jacques Lassaigne. This print is exemplary of the artist’s oeuvre with figures loosely rendered in a style that’s loose and whimsical, while also poetic and freeing. An arm holding an umbrella is outstretched from behind a grandfather clock. Item was recovered from a jumble sale in the Washington DC area. Conservative condition report: Condition is good with a minor area of discoloration upper left and note that item was adhered to cardboard. Cardboard has been carefully removed, but there is adhesive residue on the reverse. Slight tanning / sun damage also noted. A scratch on left hand side midway (subtle). Overall, presents well and is cheerful.
