Offered here is a ca 1935 Shōwa Period Japanese Maki-e wooden Lacquerware dresser box with a fitted lid. Meticulously hand painted in gilt in the traditional style with butterfly and flower motifs. Condition is fair with some losses. Recovered from the estate of art dealer, Charles R Schrider of Washington, DC who passed in 2008.
