$300.00
A rather fine 1934 Dutch .835 (83.5%) solid silver and wood milk jug by Ate de Groot-Boersma of Sneek, Netherlands. The large bulbous body of this pitcher holds a generous 28 ounces of milk, cream, or whatever you wish. The spout bears a striking profile as it sharply protrudes out in a dramatic curve. The handle is elegant, Made in wood segments affixed to a silver strap and reinforced by four silver bands, it is an ingenious design. The pitcher has been personalized with a prominent coat of arms (not identified). Condition is very good with no dents or major issues. It is noted that there is a crack in one small segment of the handle, however, the design of the handle with its rigorous reinforcement using riveted silver bands means the crack poses no threat of instability.
