1910-1920 Chinese Export Cigarette Box by Rong 荣/榮 of Canton for Wang Hing 宏興 (~265 grams) w Reticulated Dragons

c. 1910-1920 Chinese export reticulated cigarette box Retailed by Rong for Wang Hing 宏興. In excellent condition. Made of a good quality gauge of silver, the box is prolifically decorated in four-toed dragons, the one on the lid chasing the flaming pearl amidst the stylized clouds. Only the bottom is undecorated, and it is marked clearly on the bottom 'WH 90' and with the silversmith's mark along the tiny 'ZII' Dutch assay mark (recently recovered from an old private Dutch collection).
