The scene is the gorgeous mountain and lake from across the water. Colors are beautiful and this is a classic Holmes Smith painting by a well known regionalist. The painting is 10" x 13.5" and is sold unframed. Smith was a longtime faculty member of Washington University. He came to the University in 1884 as a drawing instructor and became professor of drawing and history of art in 1907.
