1870 Distressed Mahogany Shaving Mirror

Absolutely gorgeous two-drawer Victorian mahogany shaving mirror. This piece has two nice drawers and rests on hand turned bun feet. All hardware appears original including the hand turned adjusters for the mirror, the drawer pulls, and feet. This is probably made in Baltimore ca 1860-1870. Outstanding hard to find item with a number of fixable nicks at the corners to the veneer. Overall condition is outstanding with an incredible finish. Mahogany is a deep rich tight grained cherry red and fine finish. Note that the silvered glass is original and highly distressed. We've opted not to replace that since this finish could never be accomplished without the intervening decades. You can put in a new glass simply enough by visiting your local glass shop. Please note that currently the mirror and frame can be removed from the drawers. I will ship in two pieces as this will make shipping much more affordable. You can fix the mirror in place with wood glue if you desire. Conversely, I can glue it for you and update the shipping price. Let me know.
I'll hate to see this one go! A seminal piece of furniture with a nice small medium size making it perfect for a small bedroom, bathroom, or anywhere where a mirror is needed. It has an aging wood back. Lightweight and easy to deal with. Additional photos are available..just ask. Price is firm.
