Print shows two men (one holding a sword, the other holding a lantern) gesturing wildly through a doorway at a man and woman in bedclothes. The man in the doorway is holding a candle. Soldiers can be seen clashing in the background. Written below the lower left corner is, "A. Chappel. Pinxt." Below the lower right corner is, "T. Phillibrown. Sc." Below center of image is, "Capture of Fort Ticonderoga/"By what authority?" "In the name of the Great Jehovah & the Continental Congress."/Entd. According to act of Congress AD 1856 bys Martin & Johnson, in the cks office of the dist. ct. of the southern dist. of New York."
