A handsome engraved ca 1850 NYC coin silver fiddle back salt spoon made of sterling silver. Stamped with pseudomarks: lion passant, George III duty mark, and the letter H. 3 7/8" and 9.2 grams. Herrick has been associated with the NY trade and have been found on spoons retailed by the Cox brothers (NY). Condition is good with some patina spots and a microdent in the bowl that is hard to see. Monogram may be "MSC".
