1850-59 Mobile Alabama Coin Silver Tablespoon Pair by James Caddick, Watchmaker and Jeweler
$1,600.00
Offered here is a pair of Alabama tablespoons by James Caddick. Caddick, born in England, was noted as a watchmaker and jeweler working in Mobile 1850-59. Nice strong maker mark stamped on the stem reverse. Both with upturned terminals. Monogrammed handsomely in period script: 'BFH'.
One single other tablespoon by Caddick came to market in 2019. Other than that, I believe these are the only other publicly known examples of Caddick's work and mark.
Condition is excellent with a couple of small dings in the bowl that could be repaired. Light surface scratches.
Weight: 105 grams on the pair.
Length: 8.5
