1850-1860 Victorian Scottish Snuff with Silver and Gold Embellishments - "J G Mott"

$200.00
Recovered from Maine, this ca. 1840-1850 Victorian treen table snuff is quite unique. The tight-fitting lid open on a very precisely made hinge. The wood box, covered in plaid has a very Scottish look, and is embellished with two medallions, one appearing silver and having a scallop flanked by scrolls, and a gold one at the top with the name, 'J. G. Mott'. The weight of it is extremely light-- and it is tin lined. It is definitely a survivor. No major condition issues except a few scuffs on the lid and the scalloped piece could be reaffixed, probably with glue. Likely Scottish. Dimensions: 0.5” x 1.5” x 3.125” Check out some of my other antiques: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP?ref=search_shop_redirect§ion_id=6783279 Or just browse around the shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP
