1848 De L'Orme by G P R James Esq Leather Bound London Gilded
$72.00
This mid 19th century volume is bound in gilded black leather and marbled boards. Endpapers also marbled. Written by G.P.R. James and published in London, England by Parry and Co. Tis book has some tremendous library stamps including the US Library of Congress as well as the US Naval Academy Library at Annapolis. It appears it was exchanged as part of a duplicate swap between the two institutions. Condition is basically good. Some moderate rubs to leather at spine and spine edges. Bumps to corners and rubbing, especially to the marking of front cover. Mild foxed spots on occasion at the page edge. Some water damage to the onion skin page that protects the engraving at front. Nonetheless, very handsome on the shelf and great provenance.
