Superb JOhn Bigelow & Co. American ca. 1836-39 solid coin silver tablespoon pair made in Boston, Mass. The pinnacle of 19th century Boston silversmithing with rich embellishments. Fully and crisply hallmarked for 'J. Bigelow & Co', 'BOSTON', and 'New England House'. Condition is excellent with minor overall wear from use such as light surface scratches and age-related patina. No noticeable damage. Monogrammed with a Gothic 'A' on the obverse of the handle. These are fairly heavy gauge and sturdy.
Length is about 9".
