1835 Paul Storr Sterling Silver Serving Dish - William IV - London (970 grams)

$12,000.00
A very fine sterling silver dish executed by the legendary Paul Storr of London. The dish is square, measuring 11.25" across and 1.25" deep. This item has a beautiful crest in the form of a maltese cross surmounted by a hand sinister within shield over open Bible. At the upper portion, there is a raven and bear. At the corners of the dish, there are four scallops festooned with pearls, flowers, and acanthus leaves while the intervening sections of the rim are plain having a simple lobed pattern. The back is left unadorned and there are no monograms on this piece. Very clearly hallmarked for Paul Storr, Sterling, London, 1835, and William IV. Overall, the gauge is extremely heavy as you would expect from Paul Storr. In very good antique condition with wear and patina commensurate with age and usage. There is surface scratching that could be professionally conserved by my silversmith or yours.
