A stunning matched pair of William IV 1835 master salt spoons by female silvermith, Mary Chawner. Built in a stout gauge and well built in London of solid sterling silver. These are in the King's pattern with honeysuckle shell design to anterior surface of handle and shell design to posterior surface of handle terminal. This pair retains some of the original pale yellow gilding at the bowl. Handsomely chased with a castle armorial at the handle terminals. Clearly and distinctively marked with all the correct hallmarks for George III, sterling, London, and the maker marks. No damage and condition is outstanding. Mary Chawner was an important English woman silversmith who operated solo for a mere six years.
