1834 William IV Sterling Silver Mounted Crystal Mustard Pot by Edward, Edward Junior, John, & William Barnard

$210.00
1834 William IV English sterling silver and cut crystal mustard pot. If you are looking to complete a cruet set, this could be the one you've been searching for. This was recently recovered from an old Maryland estate. This piece was silversmith-built painstakingly over days, not stamped out in a factory. The quality is unmistakable when you feel it in your hand. Classic English silversmithing. The gauge of the metal is just heavier than average. This item is not weighted and has no monograms. Lid fits nicely with slight loosening at the hinge. This piece could be upcycled to hold cotton swabs (Q-tips) or other items in the bathroom. Hallmarked on the lid and rim with the marks you would expect for London including the rarer William IV monarch's head. The size is fairly small at 4.75" tall. Condition is good with minor surface scratching and with appropriate patina. Couple of fleabites (subtle). If this completes your cruet set, we all know the value of that! Buy with gusto. Pair it with an English silver mustard ladle: https://www.etsy.com/listing/239561919/1817-sterling-george-iii-english-mustard Check out some of my other English sterling silver hollowware here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP?ref=shop_sugg§ion_id=6409956 Or just browse around the shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP
