1833 Robert Garrard II Sterling Silver Dinner Plate Pair - William IV - London (1550 grams)
$4,200.00
A very fine pair of 1823 William IV sterling silver small dinner or large dessert plates executed in the Panton Street workshop of Robert Garrard II of London. These plates are 10.75" across. At the borders of the plates, there are scallops festooned with acanthus leaves in a highly ornamented manner. The back is left unadorned and there are no monograms or engravings on the plates. Very clearly hallmarked for Robert Garrard II, Sterling, London, 1823, and William IV. Overall, the gauge is extremely heavy as you would expect from Garrard.
In very good antique condition with minor wear and patina commensurate with age and usage. There is surface scratching at the bottom that could be professionally conserved if needed.
