Offered here is an oversized coin silver serving spoon made by the Newark, Ohio silversmith Hezekiah S. Sprague around 1830-40. Piece is signed Sprague in a piecrust cartouche, and has a very nice monogram 'R'. This spoon is 9.5" long and about 58 grams. Silver content tests at greater than 90%. Condition is good with some minor wear consistent with age and use. Perfect for the Easter or Thanksgiving table!
