1819 Buckman Miller and John Bowman Historical Penal Sum Document Mercer County Kentucky

A historical document of executorship by the Miller and Bowman families of Mercer County, Kentucky. It is written:
"Know all men by these presents that we Buckner Miller and John Bowman are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the penal sum of four thousand dollars current money, to the payment of which, well and truly made, to the Commonwealth, we bind ourselves, our heirs, &c. jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals, and dated 4th day of October 1819
The condition of this obligation is, that the said Bucman Miller Executor of the last will and testament, or Administrator with the will annexed, of all the goods, chattels, and credits of Michael [illegible] deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits, of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of the said Miller or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same so made, do exhibit into the County Court of Mercer County at such time as he shall thereto required by the said Court and the same goods, chattles (sic), and credits, do well and truly administer, according to law, and make a just & true account, of all his actings & doings therein, when thereto required by the said court, and further do well and truly pay and deliver, all the legacies contained and specified in the said will, as far as the said goods, chattels and credits will extend according to the value thereof, and as the law shall charge then this obligation be void, or else to remain in full force.
