1810 John Sayre of New York Silver Coffin End Tablespoon - American Federal Silver
$600.00
This spoon feature sleek design with the much desired coffin end terminal with an elegant engraved period monogram 'APD' on the handle surrounded by bright cut engraving. Made by the New York silversmith, John Sayre. I suspect they were made about 215 years ago around 1805 in New York City at his workshop. Each is well marked for John Sayre (‘I SAYRE’). Patina and satin finish are perfect and not overpolished. Very conservatively, there are typical signs of use commensurate with age, subtle areas of dark patina, wear to some mark, and exceedingly minor dints.
Additional photos available on request.
Length: 9.25"
Weight: 59g
