1809-1812 Kingdom of Prussia Silver Gilt Rococo Soup Ladle (15.75") - Friedrich Wilhelm
$195.00
A finely parcel gilt large soup ladle by an unknown maker in the Rococo taste and bearing 1809-12 tax stamps for King Friedrich Wilhelm ('FW'). This mark was apparently created so the King of Prussia could rebuild his army in order to take on Napoleon after his crushing defeat where he lost a great deal of his territory. Condition is good with repairs. A turned ebonized wood handle. Decorated in the bowl with strong fire gilding. Perfect mate for an 18th century Prussian punch bowl or soup tureen. No personalizations or removals. If you don't get this one, when will you ever find one again?
Length: 15.75"
Weight: 98 grams
