A fine Swedish silver tablespoon by Johan Leffler (working 1754–early 19th century). He trained with Bengt Biörn in Västerås; became a journeyman in 1743, and took over Gustaf Biörn's workshop in Falun; his son Johan Henrik Leffler took over the business and is recorded in connection with the father. Collected by: kåsa, 1764, frih. Otto Silfverschiöld, Koberg, Västergötcountry; cup 1768, consul general J. E. Sachs, Stockholm; cow, 1778, director M. Aronowitsch, Stockholm; spoon, 1783, fan junker J. A. Bennerström, Seater; regular spoons and cups. This tablespoon is monogrammed M S (S with an accent) M S O (O with an accent) and a cursive R. The marks include "LEFFLER" in a rectangular cartouche, the mark for Swedish silver, the Falun town mark, and A3 for the date mark (1807).
