A small plate or underplate by Jean-Baptiste Potot of Paris executed in sterling silver gilt in Paris right around 1800 at his 15 Place Thionville workshop. Marked on the obverse with JBP alongside the oak leaf and spur rowel (une feille de chene et une molette d'eperon). Also marked with the right-facing cock, middle and large guaranty marks. In good antique condition with wear to the gilding and patina commensurate with age and usage. There is surface scratching that could be professionally conserved at your option. Recently recovered from a Chicago-area estate (Ex-Richard Fill collection).
