17th Century Scandinavian Silver Tablespoon with Rattail and Figural Angel Terminal
$1,400.00
A scarce 17th century solid silver Scandinavian tablespoon with a rattail, barleytwist stem, and a very unique winged angel figural terminal. This spoon is unlike any I've ever seen and no comparable examples can be found at this time. There is no maker mark, but there is a hand engraved monogram of 'PVS'. Condition is very good with a lot of honest wear and spectacular patina on the bowl and terminal: minor dents and scratches and a historically intact surface as it has been hand polished with the greatest of care. A scarce and exceedingly rare form apparently. A nice heavy gauge.
Weight: xx grams
Length: 6.25"
