1790-95 Silas White Howell Coin Silver Tablespoon - Morristown, New New Jersey
$100.00
This tablespoon has a make-do repair where the bowl meets the stem, but New Jersey silver is so tough to find that it is certainly worth collecting, particularly because it is a large example from this watchmaker from Morristown, NJ. This piece is simple but well made. It has a complex, possibly 4-letter monogram on the terminal (see photo). The maker's mark, 'S W Howell', is very well struck on the reverse. Condition is good except the repair with no other noted issues. This spoon is a tablespoon of a typical size for the time. Made from a medium to medium-heavy gauge.
Length is: 9.5"
Weight is: 62 grams
