1789-1800 coin silver Celtic point tablespoon by John Burger of New York City, NY. Beautiful bright cut engraving and good condition. Of a very significant and heavy gauge with a downturned terminal. Monogram 'PT' in period script. Light surface scratches. After evacuating the city in 1776, Burger resumed silversmithing in 1779, and returned to the city advertising 1784-1805 as a gold and silversmith in NY, NY at 207 Queen Street. Burger was apprenticed to Myer Myers.
