Offered here is a scarce large and heavy solid silver thurible that was produced by the Viennese silversmith, Bernhard Kiermayr in 1762. The upper part of the censor is of course reticulated with a simple geometric pattern. This device is held together with chains and it appears to be missing one chain which was used to raise and lower the lid. Otherwise, it is original and in very good condition. Marked in numerous places with the maker mark for Kiermayr and the 13 loth Vienna Austria mark used for 1762. Dimensions: 10" not including chains. [Reference: Waltraud Neuwirth: Viennese silver, hallmark 1524-1780] Check out some of my other mixed sterling silver here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP?ref=search_shop_redirect§ion_id=6783258 Or just browse around the shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP
