1755-1760 Johannes Frederick Cluett of Albany New York Silver Colonial 18th Century Teaspoon Set of Four

$1,200.00
A rare set of four colonial teaspoons made 1755-1760 by Johannes Frederick Cluett of Albany New York. Cluett also sometimes was known by Jan Cluett. These spoons have all the classic characteristics, and three are clearly marked for Cluett (crossed IC). A nice medium gauge spoon set. Upturned early terminal and elongated oval bowl. So difficult to find multiples of these little teaspoons from the era. Work by Cluett is hard to find. A silver set coconut sugar went to auction 2017. One spoon of the set is unmarked, but bears the same engraved period initials and spoon is made the same as the others. Monogram is: FVDB (VD conjoined). With a little work, the Dutch New York owner could very likely be worked out. Weight: 34 grams Length: 4.25"+ [Reference: Belden, Louise Conway. Marks of American Silversmiths in the Ineson-Bissell Collection. 1980.] Check out some of my other sterling silver flatware here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP?ref=shop_sugg§ion_id=7399760 Or just browse around the shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP
