A lovely pair of 1740-45 Henry Plumpton scissor form sugar tongs in the popular cutter style. These tongs also with a box hinge and pointed trilobe grips. The gilding is near perfect suggesting light usage of these. A beautiful pair in outstanding condition and with no sign of repair! No owner's marks or removals. Marked at the outsides of both of the ring handles with the HP mark and the sterling lion passant. 37 grams, 4.5". A joy to hold with a tight hinge.
