A scarce royal 1738 Paul de Lamerie sterling silver George II tablespoon made in London in very good condition (minor tip loss, surface scratches, patina). This spoon features a royal blazon: 'on a ducal coronet, an eagle displayed', and is engraved H. Room (Housekeeping Room?), and an upturned finial. Made in a heavy gauge. Marked with the crown over P.L mark, crowned leopard, lion passant, and date mark. Recovered from a London estate. The blazon may refer to any of: Thistlewayte of Minterstowe, Wiltshire, Knight of Ruscombe, Bershire, Wheeler of Martin-Hussingtre, Worcestershire and of Burbury, Warwick.
